NTSB Releases Preliminary Piper Crash Report

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released a preliminary report on Monday regarding the Nov. 10 Perryville, Ark. accident that killed four.

The agency said the single-engine Piper-28-180 disappeared off radar three hours after picking up two Oklahoma State University basketball coaches en route for Little Rock, Ark. The aircraft was observed by witnesses to be flying low and descending steeply towards the ground, according to the report. There were no reported air traffic control communications with the aircraft.

The airplane crashed about eight miles southeast of Perryville in a heavily wooded area of the Ouachita National Forest.

Federal investigators are further examining the Piper wreckage.
