NBAA expects a Security Rule

The National Business Aviation Assn expects the Department of Homeland Security and Transportation Security Administration to very soon announce a security program designed to afford the same degree of airport and aircraft security now being applied to carriers. Thus far, as far as is known, the exact applicability criteria have not yet been determined, but it's likely to revolve around the belief that terrorists could utilize smaller aircraft in a terror attack upon a ground target. Criminal background checks and fingerprinting will obviously be de rigeur for any such system and implementation costs are expected to be significant. It will be just another cost of "doing business". NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen maintains that security has always been a top priority and assures that the NBAA will be working with DHS to strike a balance between any valid security concerns and maintaining convenient business travel.
