NASA's Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate has awarded $1.2 million to George Mason University of Fairfax, VA for research related to market-based and auction-based models and algorithms for enroute airspace allocation and configuration. The award for the two-year project, made by the directorate's Airspace Systems Program, will foster close collaboration with and facilitate the exchange of ideas and information among researchers at NASA, industry, academia, and other government agencies to benefit the nation's aeronautics community. The Airspace Systems Program is responsible for developing concepts, capabilities and technologies for high-capacity, efficient and safe airspace and airport systems. This work is to enable transformation to the Next Generation Air Transportation System.
