Increasing Efficiency at Hong Kong Int'l

Barco has been awarded a contract by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (CAD) to provide an arrival metering and sequencing system for a six-month trial period. The system, to be installed by the end of this year, will enhance air traffic efficiency at Hong Kong International Airport. For this project, Barco's arrival management software solution was customized to the operational procedures and specific airspace structure of the Hong Kong Flight Information Region. Barco's arrival management software is part of the OSYRIS product suite. OSYRIS decision support tools are used by numerous air navigation service providers, research organizations and system integrators worldwide, including EUROCONTROL, Skyguide Switzerland, Avinor Norway, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, NAV Canada, Raytheon and Lockheed Martin. Delivery and installation of the AMS system at Hong Kong International Airport is expected to be completed in December 2007. Barco will provide on-site support service during a six-month evaluation and trial period.
