China Eastern Airlines to Strengthen English
China Eastern Airlines is expected to improve its crews’ English proficiency following an incident, which departed from a Japanese airport on Monday without proper authorization.
The airline has not confirmed what the exact error was, but said it will make sure its crew and pilots’ English communication skills will enhance flight safety, indicating the error may be attributed to a language barrier.
The aircraft, carrying 245 passengers, landed safely in Shanghai. Chinese aviation authorities are working with Japanese authorities on the incidents’ investigation.
