Air Traffic Controller Found Drunk On Site
An air traffic controller allegedly was intoxicated while on duty at an air traffic center in Longmont, Colo. The FAA is now investigating the incident, according to news reports.
Reports indicate the controller was allegedly six hours into a shift on July 5 when a random drug and alcohol test administered on site showed illegal blood alcohol levels.
This incident comes in wake of many other controller incidents of employees falling asleep on duty, using portable devices at control centers and lacking professionalism, a dimension FAA has stressed over the past six months to improve aviation safety.
