Air Traffic Coms Upgrade at Incheon

Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems has been awarded a contract by Korea's Public Procurement Service (PPS) to provide an air traffic communication system that will deliver air-ground communication for the Incheon air traffic control center. The new system will upgrade existing communications infrastructure and will also include recording equipment, and a remote control and monitoring system (RCMS), to allow centralized awareness of the equipment performance and availability.

To provide the required coverage radio subsystems will be located at six sites across South Korea with centralized control and management based at Incheon. The system architecture is based around Northrop Grumman Park Air System's T6 range of VHF and UHF air traffic control radio equipment. Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems is partnered with JoongAng Hitel, the local contractor for installation services. This contract is the second phase to replace old equipment. The contract is expected to be completed at the end of 2012.
