Wings Clip at DCA

Two US Airways commercial transports were evacuated Feb. 17 at Reagan National Airport after their wings clipped each other, an airport spokesman said. The incident involved an A319 headed for New York’s LaGuardia Airport and a US Airways Express regional jet on its way to Rochester, New York. The regional jet was taxiing toward a runway when one of its wing clipped a wing of the A319. The passengers on both aircraft were evacuated and re-booked on later flights. There were no serious injuries and damage to both aircraft was described as slight. The National Transportation Safety Board will determine the cause of the mishap.
