Raytheon/SAIC Pursue ATC Optimum Training
Raytheon Technical Services has teamed with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to pursue the Federal Aviation Administration's Air Traffic Control Optimum Training Solution (ATCOTS) program. ATCOTS will be a performance-based solution for training of new and current air traffic controllers. The multi-year, performance-based contract, with an estimated value of more than $100 million, is expected to be awarded in June. RTSC's experience in training development, delivery and transformation in the commercial, civil agency and defense markets will complement SAIC's expertise in providing scientific, engineering, systems integration, and software integration and technical services solutions to government and military customers.
"RTSC's teaming agreement with SAIC positions us to provide broader, innovative and high-technology solutions to the customer," said Blaine Salvador, vice president of the Mission Support Solutions product line of RTSC's Integrated Support Solutions business. "Together with Booz Allen Hamilton, and now SAIC, our capabilities will allow us to provide the FAA with the best value solutions to achieve its training objectives." SAIC's Chuck Zang said "SAIC and Raytheon will use an approach to training, based on the prior success and strengths of both companies, that provides an innovative solution for the FAA NextGen initiative."
