A/c performed two touch-and-go landings, after third takeoff, a/c was observed flying low next to fair.
April 24, 2008 Minneapolis, MN	Bombardier CL600-2D24 N918XJ	A/c operated by Mesaba Airlines as Flight 3427, taxiing for takeoff at Minneapolis-St Paul International/Wold-Chamberlain Airport (MSP)	No injuries	A/c lost power in both of its engines.
April 27, 2008 Howell, MI	Mooney M20J N4513H	A/c received substantial damage on impact with terrain while turning back to airport following takeoff from runway 31.	One minor	After takeoff baggage door opened and the a/c stalled while returning to the airport.
April 27, 2008 Midlothian, VA	Mooney M20M N429RM	In-flight loss of control shortly after takeoff from Chesterfield County Airport (FCI). Crashed into house.	Two fatal, one serious	Witness located near accident site reported seeing large part separate from the airplane during a wings level descent. Heard engine sound decrease, and noticed propeller turning slowly.
May 02, 2008 Opelousas, LA	Piper PA-22-108 N4515Z	experienced a total loss of engine power and was substantially damaged during the forced landing roll out.	One minor	Pilot purchased a/c day prior and flying to home airport. Attempted to switch from right fuel tank to left tank. Fuel selector would not engage. Pilot elected forced landing in wheat field.
May 02, 2008 Hollister, CA	Vans Aircraft RV-7A, N269SD	During takeoff initial climb, large bird impacted leading edge of left wing slightly outboard of fuel tank. A/c immediately yawed and banked to left.	Two minor	Pilot attempted to straighten a/c and land, however, despite control inputs, a/c continued to roll to left. Subsequently, left wing struck ground and a/c cart wheeled.
May 02, 2008 McCall, ID	Cessna 172N N75856	Two Cessna 172s collided in-flight over the approach end of runway 34 at McCall Municipal Airport	Three fatal, one serious, two minor	Pilot turned onto the final leg and indicated that he intended to "land long." Approximately 30 feet above runway started a flare and this was immediately followed by the collision.

May 02, 2008 Vancouver, WA	Yakovlev Yak 52 N62813	A/c was substantially damaged when impacted terrain while maneuvering near Green Mountain Airport (WA67)	Two fatal	Witness stated a/c made high-speed pass over runway about 30 to 40 ft AGL on easterly heading and pitched upwards abruptly near end of runway and proceeded to climb out at steep angle. A/c was observed performing an "aileron roll to the right." At completion of roll, a/c was in level attitude when slight movement was observed "as if it hit turbulence." A/c subsequently descended below tree line in slight nose low attitude.
May 03, 2008 Americus, GA	Beech A35 N546B	A/c substantially damaged when impacted terrain after takeoff. Pilot and two passengers were killed.	Three fatalities	Witnesses said a/c departed runway 23, became airborne, and at approximately 100 ft AGL "the airplane began to make left bank." A/c continued until wings were almost perpendicular to ground, lost altitude and crashed adjacent to parallel taxiway.
May 03, 2008 Phoenix, AZ	Cameron Balloons C-100 N6004K	Balloon received minor damage while landing.	One serious	Initial descent rate to landing site was about 6 to 7 mph but during last 50 feet descent rate accelerated to about 30 mph. Pilot stated that after balloon touched down, was dragged across some rocks, which resulted in one passenger sustaining serious injury.
May 04, 2008 Jekyll Island, GA	Garrett Gerald P Cozy Mark IV N14GG	Amateur built a/c ditched in ocean about 3 miles off southern coast of Georgia.	One fatality	Air Traffic Control received telephone call from unidentified witness that a/c was seen going down into the ocean on fire.
May 05, 2008 Soldotna, AK	Champion 7ECA N9650S	A/c received substantial damage when collided with trees during takeoff-initial climb from private airstrip.	One serious	Pilot said forgot to remove rudder gust lock prior to takeoff, and that without rudder control during takeoff, the airplane drifted into the trees.
May 05, 2008 Broadhead, WI	Dickenson Bathtub N538	Amateur-built a/c destroyed when impacted terrain following loss of control on final approach to land on Runway 03 at Broadhead Airport.	One fatality
May 06, 2008 Concord, NC	Shaffstall Kolb Firestar II N40737	Kit-built a/c sustained substantial damage when collided with ground during forced landing, following loss of engine power during takeoff-initial climb.	One serious	Pilot said that turned out from local traffic pattern about 700 feet above the ground when engine lost power. Tried to turn back toward airport, but a/c glide capabilities limited. Attempted to land on nearby road, but the a/c descended in steep, nose-down attitude, and collided with ground in front yard of a residence.
May 08, 2008 Black Hawk, CO	Cessna 182H N8553S	A/c impacted terrain destroyed following partial loss of engine power.	One fatal, one serious	Passenger said that at 16,000 feet MSL, a/c entered clouds light snow after passed Eagle County Airport (EGE). While en route to Boulder, a/c had difficultly maintaining altitude and engine began to sputter.
May 08, 2008 Snow Hill, NC	Lancair IV-P Regis#101BX	A/c crashed in open farmland	Two fatalities	Prior to crash, pilot reported icing on wings.
May 09, 2008 Phoenix, AZ	Extra 300L	Aerobatic a/c went down seven miles east of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (IWA).	Two fatalities	The Arizona Republic reports crew of medevac helicopter witnessed plane impact desert terrain in nose-down attitude. The a/c owned by Fighter Combat International. Company sells aerobatic rides using fleet of Extras, or simulated combat flights.
May 09, 2008 Covington, WA	Thorp T-18	Single-engine homebuilt a/c crashes into house.		Suspected loss of power reported by witnesses.
May 12, 2008 Cold Mountain, NC	Piper PA-32-260	Single-engine a/c departed Rutherford County Airport bound for North Little Rock Municipal Airport.	Two fatalities	CAP locates wreckage in wilderness area.
May 12, 2008 Stevens Point, WI	Piper PA-28-140	A/c crashed shortly after takeoff from Stevens Point Municipal Airport (STE),	Two fatalities	Had been circling to land due to unknown problem.
May 12, 2008 Las Vegas, NV	Northwest Boeing 757-200	A/c lost 3-foot by 2-foot wing panel in flight. Struck horizontal stabilizer.		Hydraulic problem forced diversion to McCarran.
May 13, 2008 Cranbrook, BC, Canada	Bell Model 206	Pilot, two passengers who were both BC Hydro employees, and pedestrian were killed when a/c dropped from the air, landing on pedestrian and bursting into flames.	Four fatalities	The chopper was hired by BC Hydro and owned by Big Horn Helicopters. Witnesses gave varying accounts of what transpired in the few minutes prior to the crash.
