Andrew D. Parker
has covered the aviation industry for more than seven years, after working four-plus years as a reporter at local newspapers in Fairfax and Loudoun counties in Virginia. He has served as managing editor of Rotor & Wing sister publication Avionics magazine, as well as Aviation Maintenance. He also formerly worked as news editor for Professional Pilot magazine.

A recipient of several journalism awards, Parker was a finalist for the 2009 “International Aerospace Journalist of the Year” award in the business aircraft category. During his time at Leesburg Today, a community newspaper in Leesburg, Va., Parker received the 2003 Virginia Press Association “Best in Show” award for coverage of the town government’s credit card scandal, as well as a 2002 VPA award for spot news coverage of a small aircraft crash that year.

Parker holds a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Montana, with a minor in Political Science. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Rotor & Wing magazine in Rockville, Md. and is a contributing editor to the Aviation Today website, which along with Rotor & Wing is part of the Access Intelligence Aviation Group.
