Andrew Drwiega is a senior defence journalist with a particular focus on military rotorcraft. He was the editor of Defence Helicopter for seven years. Andrew has reported on attachment from Iraq three times (the latest of which was with a US Marine Corps MV-22 squadron), and twice with British forces in Afghanistan (Kandahar and Camp Bastion) as well as from numerous NATO and British exercises.
He has reported on rotary forces across the world, and in doing so has flown in a wide variety of rotorcraft on training missions, exercises and on operations including the Osprey, Apache, Rooivalk and many others.
Andrew has a BA (Hons) Degree in War Studies from Sunderland University. He is a member of several associations including the Army Aviation Association of America (Quad-A), Royal United Services institute and the Air Power Association.
Andrew also has been involved in organising, chairing and attending defence and helicopter conferences around the world. He has an extensive military library of around 400 books.
