Zing Expands to Civil Helicopter Platforms

Honeywell’s Zing, a package of remote diagnostic maintenance monitoring systems, is now available for civil helicopters. Included in the package are a health and usage monitoring system (HUMS), portable testing hardware, sensors, a supporting software program (Zing Ware) and fleet-level planning tools. Zing gives operators advance warning of potential equipment failures, “allowing more maintenance to be performed in the hangar instead of unplanned events that occur in remote areas,” explains Mike Cuff, vice president of the company’s Helicopter and Surface Systems division. He goes on to say the program supplies “a fleet wide view of the health and performance of safety-critical components.”
