West Star Completes EVS Retrofit

Grand Junction, Colo.-based West Star Aviation has conducted a test flight as part of a certification effort for an enhanced flight vision system (EFVS) installation on a Bombardier Challenger 604. Along with its partners, Elbit Systems (Kollsman), Jetcraft Avionics and various subcontractors, West Star flew the system on Oct. 21 from its facility at Grand Junction Airport (GJT). The certification process includes computational fluid dynamics, fairing, substructure and EVS window functionality and required conformity. West Star anticipates an STC for the installation within the next month.
