Virgin Blue Gets OnPoint

GE Aviation has signed a six-year deal to provide its OnPoint maintenance and overhaul program for Virgin Blue and its international carrier, Pacific Blue. Worth up to $300 million, the agreement covers all CFM56-7B engines on Virgin Blue’s fleet of 68 Next Generation Boeing 737-700s, -800s and Embraer 170 and 190 and 170 aircraft. OnPoint services include component repair, new and used serviceable parts, engine diagnostics, overhaul, on wing support and technology upgrades.
