Vaisala Purchases ASM Inc.

The U.S. subsidiary of Finland-based Vaisala has acquired Aviation Systems Maintenance, which provides maintenance and instrument installations at airports. Estimated at $3.2-million, the deal is scheduled to close on Jan. 1, 2009. According to Vaisala, the purchase will strengthen its position as a maintenance services supplier in the U.S. airport weather market.
