VEM Paints Brazil’s First A340-500
The A340 project of TAM Linhas Aéreas is the first Airbus A340-500 aircraft to fly in Brazil and was delivered after VEM painted the fuselage and the logo of the new operator at VEM’s hangar in Rio de Janeiro. VEM has also participated in several operational processes in conjunction with TAM’s technical team. The plane’s interior had the placards and carpets changed, in line with the standards for the fleet of the new operator. Since 2004, when it received its first certification for maintenance on the A300-200 from the FAA, VEM decided to invest heavily in its capability to serve the Airbus fleet and, currently, is certified for the A310 and A300-600 models, also by the FAA. EASA certification for the A310 is expected for January 2008. For related news
