United to Move ORD Cargo Buildings
The City of Chicago intends to fork out $163 million to United Airlines for the carrier to move a cargo facility that is in the path of a planned runway at O’Hare Intl Airport (ORD). United and FedEx had previously agreed to tear down cargo buildings that lie along the southern portion of ORD to make way for Runway 10/28, which is part of a $15-billion project to modernize O’Hare. “The agreement is final. We just owe United a check, which is in process,” Rosemarie Andolino, executive director of the O'Hare modernization program, told the Chicago Tribune.
