United Services to Maintain Air Force C-17s
Chicago-based United Services has won an up to $250-million contract extension to conduct maintenance on Pratt & Whitney F117 engines on U.S. Air Force C-17s. The agreement includes a two-year option. United is subcontracting the engine overhaul and quick engine change (QEC) removal and replacement from Pratt & Whitney, which is under contract with Boeing. QEC work will be performed at United’s facility at Charleston Air Force Base, and the engine overhauls will take place in San Francisco, Calif.
