Union to Re-Vote on Air Canada Contract
Air Canada has announced Monday that around 12,000 workers will re-vote on a pending contract after the two parties modified the terms of the deal this weekend. Members of the Intl Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers narrowly turned down the original agreement last week. According to Reuters, mechanics fear that repair and maintenance work will be transferred to El Salvador-based Aveos Fleet Performance, which is a sister company formerly known as Air Canada Technical Services.
