In separate agreements, three commercial operators — Air Via, Iraqi Airways and Somon Air — have chosen Turkish Technic to supply maintenance and support services. Based at Sofia Intl Airport (SOF) in Bulgaria, Air Via will receive base maintenance C-check services for its fleet of four Airbus A320s at Turkish Technic’s complex in Istanbul, Turkey. Work is scheduled to take place in February. The deal with Iraqi Airways involves total maintenance support for its Boeing 737-700s, including line maintenance, engineering and a component pool agreement. Based at Baghdad Intl Airport (SDA), Iraqi Airways will cover all technical support to maintain the airworthiness of two 737-700s. For Somon Air, Turkish Technic will also provide a package of services, including line maintenance, engineering support and wheel, tire and brake overhauls. Line maintenance work will be conducted at Somon’s base at Dushanbe Intl Airport (DYU) in Tajikistan.
