A five-year tax break that exempts aircraft maintenance, repairs and parts in New York is set to expire at the end of 2009. Local MRO providers at Albany Intl Airport (ALB) are expressing concern that if elected officials do not extend the exemption, business could suffer, or even dry up. Albany County Airport Authority CEO John O’Donnell told the Times-Union that when the tax break took effect in December 2004, the maintenance and repair business “experienced a substantial boom in business.”
