SkyWest has a new agreement with Pratt & Whitney to provide aftermarket support for a fleet of 100 MRJ90 Mitsubishi regional jets that will be delivered to its subsidiary SkyWest Airlines over the next four years, the company said Wednesday.
Under the agreement, Pratt & Whitney will provide its PureSolution Fleet Management Program in support of the PW1217G engines installed on the fleet. According to the company, the program will lower the cost of ownership for SkyWest by providing predictable maintenance costs with maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services.
The aftermarket agreement follows the $4.2 billion order for 100 MRJ90s placed in December by SkyWest. Deliveries of the new jets are expected to be completed by 2017.
