StandardAero has received an
FAA supplemental type certificate (STC) to remove Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-41 and -42 engines from the King Air 200/200C/B200/B200C and install PT6A-52s and four-blade Hartzell propellers. The engine/propeller upgrade is the same pair that is certified on the new King Air B200GT. StandardAero has already scheduled four aircraft for the modification in coming weeks, with more installations planned throughout 2009. The company’s Designated Alteration Station in Springfield, Ill. was instrumental in securing the STC.
