Robins Mx Unit Wins Silver

The 402nd electronics maintenance group at Robins Air Force Base, Ga., has won silver in this year’s Shingo Prize for streamlining its manufacturing processes and improving safety. The Utah State University School of Business administers the award, which is named for industrial engineer Shigeo Shingo. The group performs tests and repairs for a variety of avionics systems on military aircraft. A May 5 ceremony in Nashville, Tenn. will honor the unit along with 20 other public and private organizations.
