West Virginia University has received $76,205 in funding from NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate to develop training tools and programs for aircraft management. The project, “Teaching Aircraft Health Management — a Simulation-Based Approach,” will focus on modeling, detection, evaluation, monitoring and “accommodation of abnormal aerospace systems operation.” The NASA award covers the first of a two-year deal worth around $155,000 total. Mario Perhinschi, principal investigator, will lead the effort.
