Premier/West Star Bouncing Back from Storm

Virtually all services and processes at Premier/WestStar’s East Alton, Illinois facility are up and running again after sustaining heavy storm related damage to one of their six maintenance hangars located at the St. Louis Regional Airport (ALN). The damage was the result of a powerful system of thunderstorms that moved through the St. Louis region Wednesday evening, July 19, in a line 30 miles across. Straight-line winds in excess of 80 mph were reported, along with heavy rain and hail. Extensive maintenance and avionics services were relocated from the damaged hangar to the main 85,000 sq. ft. hangar. “As severe as those storms were, we consider ourselves lucky that no one was injured and no major damage was done to any aircraft,” said Jim Swehla, executive vice president of sales and marketing for the company.
