Pemco Expands its MRO to Florida

The 50-year-old Pemco World Air Services, Inc. (Pemco) announced that it would expand its aircraft maintenance and repair operations to Tampa, Florida at the Tampa International Airport. Pemco will begin hiring immediately, and anticipates the facility will eventually support approximately 400 jobs. The Tampa Airport Authority approved a 15-year lease with Pemco of the five-bay, 150,000-square-foot maintenance hangar formerly used by US Airways. Pemco will take occupancy of the hangar on April 1 and plans on servicing its first aircraft at the Tampa facility as early as July 2008. Pemco specializes in heavy maintenance checks for domestic and foreign airlines and provides aircraft cargo conversion modification.
