Robert Weiner, president and CEO of PAS Technologies, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday. He was 58. Weiner, an expert in Lean Six Sigma production methods, became president and CEO of PAS Technologies in 2006, when Gridiron Capital purchased the company from Praxair. He presided over a period of expansion at PAS, which acquired Sifco Industrial Turbine Component Repair in 2007. Weiner also formerly worked for Pratt & Whitney and General Electric. Director of Communications Marsha Farmer described Weiner as “a true visionary and an outstanding leader. … Through his compassion and tenacity he inspired all of us to be our best.” The board of directors moved quickly to enact Weiner’s succession plan, appointing Phil Milazzo as CEO. Milazzo previously served as executive vice president of sales and marketing for PAS Technologies, which is based in Kansas City, Mo.
