P&W to Support Vietnam Airlines Engines

Hartford, Conn.-based Pratt & Whitney has secured a five-year deal with Vietnam Airlines to supply its engine management program (EMP). The contract includes on-wing engine monitoring for a fleet of 58 PW4000 and V2500 engines. Nguyen Van Hung, executive vice president, technical for the carrier, says that “early detection and isolation of problems, as this service provides, will help us manage maintenance costs.”
