P&W to Build Mirabel Engine Complex

Pratt & Whitney Canada has announced plans to construct a final assembly and test facility for the PW800 at Montreal–Mirabel Intl Airport. The company will invest $575.3 million in the center, creating up to 565 jobs over the next five years. Final assembly and testing of the PurePower PW810C will take place at Mirabel, which will also serve as a worldwide hub for Pratt & Whitney’s integrated flight test operations. Opening of the 300,000-square-foot facility is projected for fall 2009.
