Midcoast’s New Hangar

The 145,000-square-foot hangar will support Midcoast Aviation’s narrow-body aircraft completions. The new hangar will be the company’s largest, will be an expansion of its current hangar space at St. Louis Downtown Airport and will add at least 200 new employees within the first two years of operation. The hangar, which will cost $17.5 million, will contain 48,000-square-foot bays connected by a 36,000-square-foot, three-story center core and 14,000 square feet of support shop space. According to Kurt Sutterer, Midcoast’s president, “Midcoast then will have five hangars dedicated to supporting our significant maintenance business which is growing at 12 percent annually, twice the industry rate of six percent. Additionally, we have two hangars for aircraft painting.” For related news
