Midcoast Teterboro Cayman Islands AMO Certified

The Teterboro, N.Y. satellite branch of Midcoast Aviation has obtained certification to work on Cayman Islands Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)-registered aircraft. The aviation maintenance organization (AMO) approval gives Midcoast the ability to expand its AOG service to 24-hour support. David Smith, vice president MRO satellite operations, explains that prior to gaining certification, “if we needed to assist a [CAA-registered] customer on a weekend, night or during a Cayman holiday, our hands were tied.” With the designation, Midcoast Teterboro becomes the first CAA-certified AMO in the U.S. The location currently supports 19 maintenance events on Cayman aircraft each year.
