Mechanic Strike Grounds JAT Flights

A strike by workers of a maintenance and support company has caused Serbian carrier JAT Airways to temporarily cancel all of its flights. JAT Tehnika employees decided on Tuesday to stop servicing all aircraft at its Belgrade Airport (BEG) facility. JAT Tehnika is claiming that the airline owes it more than 1.07 million euros, while JAT Airways officials are describing the mechanics’ action as a “blackmail policy.”
