Marine Unit, Boeing Partner on Repairs

The U.S. Marine Corps’ Aviation Logistics Squadron 13 (MALS-13) supply department is renovating its warehouse to allow Boeing to store AV-8B Harrier maintenance tools in an effort designed to speed up parts repair and delivery. The two parties signed a deal in June 2007 for Boeing to serve as an intermediary between OEMs and depot-level vendors to reduce aircraft time on the ground due to repairs. The Marine unit plans to complete warehouse renovations by late January 2009, with delivery of the maintenance tools scheduled to start the following month.
