Maintainers Arm F-16s

Members of the 332nd Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron play a crucial role in loading munitions on F-16 Fighting Falcons in Iraq. The squadron works around-the-clock to ensure that every aircraft is armed properly, while maintaining safety. “If I can’t put bombs on the airplanes, all I have is an aircraft with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capability,” says Col. Perry Oaks, group commander of the 332nd. “Our munitions loaders are an integral part of the team,” he adds. The weapons specialists are charged with three tasks: loading munitions, inspecting the end of the runway and armament maintenance.
