Under a deal that takes effect in June, EDAC Technologies has agreed to take over part of MTU’s Aero Engines North America (AENA) business unit. The move comes “as a result of a review and realignment of our entire production structure,” says MTU CEO Egon Behle. The arrangement calls for EDAC to take over the AENA shop in Newington, Conn., which employs 120 people and manufactures rotating components, such as disks, rings and shafts. MTU will continue to operate the AENA Engineering unit, which employs 60 people in Rocky Hill, Conn.
