MRO Center to Open in India

National Aviation Company of India Ltd. (NACIL) has signed a joint venture agreement with Airbus parent EADS to establish a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) center at Indira Gandhi Intl Airport in Delhi, India. Plans call for the facility, which will initially offer airframe maintenance and repair for Airbus jets, to be operational in early 2009. Eventually the complex will service other aircraft types, for example, ATR, as well as other airliners. The India center will become part of the Airbus MRO network. NACIL operates many Airbus aircraft and is in the process of incorporating 43 new A320s into its fleet.
