Lockheed to Extend Canadian Fleet Life

Bethesda, Md.-based Lockheed Martin has won a $156-million contract to provide its P-3 aircraft service life extension program (ASLEP) for the Canadian Forces CP-140 fleet. Under the deal, a total of 10 CP-140 Auroras will receive kits that will include new outer wings, horizontal stabilizers, center wing lower surface assemblies and other items. Lockheed estimates that the kits will allow another 20 to 25 years of service life, or around 15,000 flight hours, as well as reduce maintenance costs.
