Lockheed Martin to Reduce Greenville Workforce

From WYFF 4 (Greenville, S.C.) Lockheed Martin employees in Greenville learned at meetings on Monday and Tuesday that dozens of them will be laid off. Rob Gross, senior communications representative at Lockheed in Greenville, said that there will be “a workforce reduction at its aircraft maintenance and modification facility in Greenville.” Gross said the specific number of employees affected will be announced next week, but he anticipates it will between 50 and 100, both fulltime and contracted employees. Lockheed does maintenance on military aircraft, so Gross said with so many aircraft deployed, the maintenance on those planes is being done overseas, not at Lockheed.
