Lufthansa Technik has announced plans to increase the number of training positions at its Hamburg base. Starting in 2009, 24 students will enter an apprenticeship program that runs three and a half years. The training will cover a range of materials, machines and maintenance tasks, as well as computer-based instruction. On completion of the program, participants will be given an opportunity to work for the company in its engine, landing gear and component maintenance divisions or in repair development engineering.
