Jazeera Airways Selects Lufthansa Technik
The Middle East-based Jazeera Airways selected Lufthansa Technik AG to support the thrust reversers of their Airbus A320 family aircraft. With the signing of the new contract at Dubai Airshow the airline extended the existing Total Technical Support contract by an additional volume of about $38 million. The new contract covers the five aircraft in operation as well as future airplanes that are going to be phased in the next couple of years. Last June, Jazeera Airways placed a firm order with Airbus for 30 additional Airbus A320 aircraft with delivery schedule from 2007 until 2014. Once the aircraft are delivered, Jazeera Airways will
be the largest A320 operator in the Middle East. The CFM56-5B thrust reversers will be maintained by Lufthansa Technik's ARC (Airframe Related Components) shop in Hamburg. The agreement covers also home base stock as well as spares supply on ad-hoc services and is in place for ten years for each aircraft. For related news
