Hawker Beechcraft Opens Mexican Facility
The new aerospace light sheet-metal assembly manufacturing facility in Chihuahua, Mexico has opened. The operation will employ up to 250 local techs, and allows for growth opportunity to reach 650 employees during the next five years. This facility will support HB’s current and projected workforce needs and will alleviate space constraints at the company’s U.S.-based manufacturing facilities. There are more than 200 open hourly requisitions and more than 500 overall requisitions that need to be filled. HB selected Chihuahua for its new facility because of the High Technology Training Center CENALTEC Campus there. This center trains for machining, sheet metal, painting and other techniques and processes and certifies technicians too.
