Hawker Beechcraft Corp. has started building its 66,500-square-foot Hawker Beechcraft Services (HBS) maintenance and service complex at Indianapolis Intl Airport (IND). Company officials hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 17 for the $14-million facility, which will open in the second quarter of 2009. The center will include a 6,500-square-foot terminal, 40,000-square-foot hangar and 20,000 square feet of offices and back shops. HBS expects to create around 50 jobs at IND in the next five years.
