Group Examines HVM Concept for B-1

Officials from the U.S. Air Force Materiel Command visited Tinker Air Force Base last week to examine how maintenance is conducted on the B-1B bomber. The group is considering high velocity maintenance (HVM) practices, which promise to shorten the time an aircraft spends on the ground for depot, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. The HVM concept was originally developed at Warner Robins Air Logistics Center in Georgia.
