GKN Developing Blended Winglets

Aviation Partners Boeing chose GKN Aerospace to develop the 767-300ER blended winglet for its Boeing 767-300/500 fleet. GKN is responsible for the design, development and manufacture of the 11-foot tall blended winglet and expects delivery to begin in fourth quarter 2008. The contract covers up to 300 767-300ER and 200 737-300/500 blended winglet ship sets. In three years, Boeing expects the winglets to save more than two billion gallons of fuel.
