GE Contracts Iberia for Engine MRO

Iberia has agreed to become a GE Aviation regional fulfillment center for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) on CFM56-5As within Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The deal includes a provision that Iberia will enter into GE’s OnPoint program to receive material and services for the CFM56-5A repairs. Manuel Lopez Aguilar, Iberia Maintenance & Engineering’s executive VP, says the contract “represents a new step” in the long-term relationship between the two companies, adding that it “will be the first project of deep co-operation that may be extended in the future” to other GE and CFM engines.
