First Female Harrier Mechanic Retires

Retired Maj. Lou Ann Rickley joined the U.S. Marine Corps 30 years ago. She began her carrier as an aviation mechanic when she discovered her dream job when landing with a harrier unit. Rickley overcame many obstacles in the then male-based Corps to become the first female AV-8A Harrier Plane Captain with Marine Attack Squadron 513 Flying Nightmares. Even thought she has retired, Rickley will be a civilian contractor with the title of program management air 226 west coast CH-46 helicopter manager. More
