The Federal Aviation Administration has published an airworthiness directive (AD) instructing
Boeing 737 pilots not to ignore a cabin pressure warning horn, ordering preflight briefings and changes to the aircraft manuals. Effective Nov. 25, the AD results from an Aug. 14, 2005 accident in Athens, Greece, where a Helios Airways 737-300 crashed into a hillside, killing 121 people onboard. According to investigators, cabin pressure control settings had been operated improperly and an alarm went unheeded before the crash.
