Engine Checks Force ASA Groundings

Atlantic Southeast Airlines has taken around 60 Bombardier CRJ200s temporarily out of service to perform safety inspections on the aircraft’s GE CF34-3B1s. Following an internal audit, the Delta regional operator told the FAA it would voluntarily ground the planes “to ensure compliance with the engine manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations,” a spokesperson said. The aircraft account for around 40 percent of ASA’s fleet.
